Daniel's first trip...part 3

Since Jen was still not feeling too well we figured that since we had no visits planned (Gary on Sunday night and Chad/Lisa/Nathan on Monday for lunch) we decided to just play it by ear. Saturday-morning Jen was feeling pretty well, all things considered. Still a bit feverish, still a moderate headache, but overall not too bad. Since on the way up Niels pointed out the IKEA store in Burlington, ON and our nearest store is at least two hours away, we did an IKEA run. Kind of funny that the only two IKEA stores we went to since we're married are both outside of the USA. This visit would be the first IKEA visit in North America for us, since the first one was just north of Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

We went in to get some ideas for our house, since the IKEA products are all very European-looking (...) and match-up well with our decorating taste. We saw plenty of nice looking furniture and got a number of ideas, including an iron wire to hang up school or home-made projects for once Daniel gets old enough. Although that was a cool idea, we actually found something we've never had in our marriage and single-life. A matching set of plates, dishes and cups. Yes, we had 5 TVs right after we got married, but no matching tableware...

On the way back to Oakville, only about 20 minutes, we stopped at the Oakville Mall to visit 'The Bay'. That's a true Canadian department store, albeit looking very similar to a regular Dillards or Nordstrom. While waiting for the light on the highway-exit we were talking about the planning for the rest of the trip. Right after we talked about one of the plans Daniel made his first audible laugh as he knew something we didn't. Well, his ancient namesake was a prophet and as it turns out, so is our little boy...
