Daniel v. The Spoon

Our plan is to hold off on solids until six months, which is the current recommendation by the people who make these things up. I'm pretty happy with the fact that, despite supply issues and a few bouts of mastitis, Daniel has had only breast milk except for a few ounces when I was out of commission in the hospital when he was a few days old.

Last week I bought a few spoons for him to play with, to get used to the feel of it. There's a list of things to watch for to see if a baby is ready for solids: doubling his birth weight, interest in food, able to sit up with support, good head control, etc. Daniel has hit about half the items in the list. He's been doing well with the spoon so today we decided to give him a little breast milk in the spoon to see how he'd do.

See for yourself...

Of course, the best part is that as soon as the video ended, he erped it all up!
